CIPM Lagos CSR Committee Donates Solar Lights, Food Items to Red Cross Motherless Babies Home in Yaba

The Lagos State Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), through its Corporate Social Responsibility and Communication Committee (CSR&CC), has reaffirmed its commitment to community development with a donation outreach to the Nigerian Red Cross Society Motherless Babies Home in Yaba, Lagos.

The outreach, held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Motherless Babies Home located on Makoko Street, Yaba, brought together key stakeholders and members of the institute in a show of compassion and social responsibility.

Items donated during the visit included a burglary-proof door, 10 solar-powered street lights to improve security and sustainability within the home, as well as food and beverage supplies such as cartons of spaghetti, noodles, Capri-Sun drinks, and Bobo drinks aimed at supporting the welfare of the children.

Leading the delegation was the Branch Chairman, Mrs. Adenike Adeyelu, FCIPM, alongside the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Jamiu Awe, MCIPM, and the Branch Secretary, Mrs. Vivian Adikankwu, ACIPM. Also present was the Chairman of the CSR & CC, Mrs. Folashade Owolabi, MCIPM, who coordinated the initiative as part of the branch’s ongoing efforts to give back to society.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Rotarian Emmanuel C. Anigbata, FCIPM (Immediate Past Chairman), Dr. Ashade Oladimeji, ACIPM (Ex-Officio 1), Mrs. Nonye Omoike, ACIPM ((Ex-Officio 2), Mrs. Aborishade Omobolaji, ACIPM (Ikorodu Chapter Chairman), and several members from various CIPM chapters across Lagos, reflecting a strong institutional participation.

The host institution was represented by its Board Chairman, Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Adebola Kolawole, alongside the Branch Secretary and Head of Office, Olakunle Lasisi, the Branch Management Director, Oladimeji Ige, and the Matron of the Babies Home, Caroline Olalu, who expressed heartfelt appreciation for the gesture.

Speaking during the event, CIPM representatives emphasized the importance of extending care to vulnerable members of society, noting that the initiative aligns with the institute’s broader vision of promoting not only professional excellence but also humanitarian values.

The donation of solar street lights and a burglary door was particularly highlighted as a strategic intervention to enhance safety and improve living conditions within the facility, while the food items were described as immediate relief materials to support daily sustenance.

The event also fostered interaction between members of the institute and caregivers at the home, creating an atmosphere of empathy, shared responsibility, and community bonding.
